SUNFLOWER NATURAL FOODS MARKET BEGINS EXPANSION PROJECT

Family-owned and operated, the company first opened its doors in Woodstock in 1978 when Bob Whitcomb (of Woodstock) envisioned a market that would offer products and services designed to provide everyone with access to clean, organic, local food and goods to enhance and improve their health. Since its inception, the business has grown to include a location in Rhinebeck, complete with a cafe and juice bar.
“With the expansion, our holistic vision for the Woodstock store will come to fruition: engagement with our local vendors and our customers that produces shared experience and appreciation for healthy living. We are creating a dynamic platform on which to offer more educational programs and hands-on learning experiences that center around good health and wellness habits,” said Melissa Misra, co-owner, Sunflower Natural Foods, who grew up in Woodstock and is now a resident of Rhinebeck. “These types of initiatives really require the support of an entire village, and we’ve been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support.”
The expansion project includes an addition to the Woodstock store at 75 Mill Hill Road. It is estimated to be completed by early 2019, at which point Sunflower will announce details of a grand re-opening event.

Our wide selection of organic produce and all-natural products provides locals with an easy, convenient way to do right for their bodies and for the planet. It’s really gratifying, and we’re thrilled to continue to grow, learn, and meet the needs of our neighbors, friends, and communities,” added Paku Misra, co-owner.
